Estou impressionada. Beijinhos

  2. Hi Ana,
I really like your blog. Have you had your second surgery yet? I could share some info if you want, i had mine done in London 8 weeks ago.
Meantime, I would recomend you a book called The trigger point therapy workbook' which helped me a lot with massages.

    1. Hi Sofie :)
      Thank you for your message!
I am still waiting for my second surgery, but hopefully it will be soon. I would really appreciate if you could share your experiences with your surgery. Which kind of surgery was it? I hope that you are recovering well, and that it improved your condition.

  3. Hi,

I really enjoyed reading your blog - very informative. I can relate to it to a degree, although my tmj condition is no where near as bad as yours. One of the hardest things I have found is getting the doctors to believe your symptoms and coming to a consensus between all the specialists you have to consult. Every doctor tells you a different thing.

I have seen two maxillofacial surgeons and the one I saw recently has recommended arthrocentesis as my right disc is anteroirly displaced. He hasn't even looked at my Mri cos his computer couldn't read the cd it was on. I'm a bit dubious about this procedure because it costs so much and I have read accounts of people who have had it done and it hasn't helped at all. I have to have an OPG done and then decide what to do...So much doubt and confusion and money spent.

I hope you recover well from your surgery and that it resolves your jaw complications.

  4. Hi Ana,

Your diary has helped me a lot its brill.

I am going in for an eminectomy on 21st December, very soon now. Can you give me any advise on what i need or what i can do to make my recovery more comfortably. I am nervous but the last three years of my life have been hell. This last year i have been in constant pain, the headaches have got worse and more often. My life has been on hold my husband and my kids only ever see me in pain or very depressed. I try to hide it as much as i can but it is so very hard. I really just want it all over now, a life without pain.

  5. Hi Ana,

My Surgery was cancelled in the 21st in the University of Wales hospital and no one can tell me when it will be re-scheduled. In a way it was good as i got to spend Xmas with my Family and not in bed, but, it doesn't help the fact i'm in constant pain.

I have been advised that when they do the eminectomy they will check my disc to see the state it is in, they will also be smoothing and injecting steroids into the condyle as it is eroding through arthritis. The bad news is that as i have had to wait to long my right hand side is dislocating everytime i open my mouth more than a couple of centimetres and if it does not correct itself after surgery i will have to have the same proceedure done again.

I hope your pain has eased since your last blog and you don't have to suffer through another surgery to stitch the disc back into place.

Hope you had a nice holiday period.

    1. Dear Ceri,

I am so sorry for my late reply - I have been away during the holiday period and wasn't checking the blog regularly. And thank you - I did have a wonderful time with my family during these holidays! I must say it was the best time I have had in ages!

I am so so sorry to hear your surgery has been cancelled! I know just how hard and stressful it is to be preparing for a surgery and then being turn down in the last minute. So frustrating! But, as you said, at least you got to spend the holidays with your loved ones :)

Can you please send me a private email to anamaia84@gmail.com? We can talk better, and I can provide you more information regarding my surgery and the University Hospital of Wales. :)

      Kindest regards,
      Ana
